TechInNaija is an independent publication covering the Nigerian and African technology ecosystem. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use this website, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect the email address you submit and the date you subscribed. If you contact us by email, we retain that correspondence so we can respond and keep a record of the exchange.

If you leave a comment on an article, we store the name, email address, and comment text you submit. Your email address is not published.

We do not ask for, and you should not send us, sensitive personal information such as financial account details or government identification numbers.

Like most websites, our hosting and analytics providers automatically record technical information when you visit. This typically includes your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, the pages you view, the time of your visit, and the referring website.

We use this information in aggregate to understand which articles are read, how readers find us, and whether the site is performing correctly. We do not use it to identify individual readers.

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act and comparable regimes, you have the right to ask us what personal information we hold about you, to have inaccurate information corrected, to have your information deleted, and to withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time.

This site is intended for a professional and general adult readership. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

This site is served over HTTPS, and we rely on established providers with their own security practices for hosting, content management, and email. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information sent over the internet.

We may update this policy as the site changes or as legal requirements evolve. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be noted clearly rather than made quietly.
